CRATE TRAINING
The crate should be puppy's safe space, never to be used as a punishment. Try placing the crate up against a corner and consider covering the crate. Use the crate as a place for when puppy needs to to calm down, specifically when nipping gets out of control. Try giving pup something to do in crate, such as a filled Kong.
FAVORITE CRATE
The durable design of a wire crate creates a safe place for your pet while you're away and caters to your dog’s natural “den” instincts. A divider is included, so purchase the size your dog will grow into. The crate has two doors which makes placement easier in your home.
FAVORITE CRATE TRAINING TOOL
Stuff the Kong toy with peanut butter, kibble, meat, cheese, whatever your puppy can't get enough of. Then, freeze it. Reserve the stuffed Kong for crate time only. This treat should be so special that your puppy can't wait for you to leave him alone!
HOUSEBREAKING
Puppies need lots of structure and consistency from us to get through housebreaking. One of the biggest housebreaking mistakes puppy owners make is giving puppy too much freedom too soon. Until your puppy is 100% housebroken and can be trusted not to chew on things he shouldn't, your puppy should not be out of your sight unless he is in the crate. If you cannot give 100% of your attention to your puppy, he should be in his crate.

FAVORITE POTTY NOTIFICATION BELLS
Doorbells are a great way to help your puppy communicate that it is potty time. Every time you go outside, encourage your puppy to touch the bells. He will soon make the association between the bells and going outside tat he will use the bells to alert you that it's time to go out.
Get high-tech with potty time! Teach your dog to ring the Mighty Paw Smart Bell to communicate potty time and hear the ring throughout the house. Good for larger homes where a traditional bell may not be loud enough.
HIGHLY RATED PET STAIN REMOVER
Nature's Miracle Advanced Stain and Odor Eliminator works to discourage re-soiling by removing the odor of dog messes. The bacteria-based formula produces enzymes when it comes in contact with messes, leaving a light, fresh scent.
FAVORITE TRAINING TREAT
Don't forget to give lots of praise and treats when puppy goes potty in the right spot! I've never met a dog who doesn't love these liver-flavored Bil Jac Little Jacs training treats. Great for big breeds, small breeds, adult dogs, and puppies. Depending on the size of your dog, one treat will go a long way.
CHEWING & NIPPING
Chewing is a natural dog behavior so we need to have plenty of chews available to our dogs so they don't need to use your furniture as their chewing outlet! Dogs like to make progress on their chews, so be sure to get something that isn't too hard or your dog will lose interest. When our puppies nip on us, we need to redirect to something more appropriate, such as a rope or plush toy.
FAVORITE CHEWS
Bully sticks are 100% beef muscle and offer a great chew option for puppies and dogs.
Good for more aggressive chewers, this hearty Nylabone will last a while. The Wishbone is curved for a paw-friendly grip so your pup can quickly grab it and get a good chew going.
FAVORITE SPRAY FOR BITING & CHEWING
The concentrated, water-based formula contains bittering agents which leave an unpleasant flavor that safely discourages dogs from negative chewing and biting behaviors. Can be used on skin, furnishings, clothing, and more (but always test on fabrics first).
LOOSE LEASH WALKING
These tools are excellent for helping our pups learn how to walk nicely beside us.
FAVORITE FOR LEASH WALKING
I recommend all dogs to use the PetSafe Easy Walk Harness. Great tool for training loose leash walking and heel command.
SECOND FAVORITE FOR LEASH WALKING
If the Easy walk harness does not work well, I recommend the Gentle Leader. Works on dogs big and small! It will take your pup a bit of time to get used to it. Be sure to watch the instructional video before using.
ENRICHMENT
Looking for ways to occupy your dog throughout the day? Try some of our favorite enrichment tools and activities. Using feeding time as an opportunity to work your dog's mind is a great first step!
FAVORITE ENRICHMENT TOOLS
Make mealtime a fun challenge! Work your pup's mind with this food dispensing wobble toy. The large size should fit close to a whole meal, depending on your dog's size. Adjust difficulty as your dog catches on.
A snuffle mat is another feeding tool that slows feeding but also stimulates your puppy mentally and physically as he forages through the grass-like felt to find his food. Could also be used with treats. Machine washable.
Dogs love popping bubbles, especially when they're peanut-butter flavored! Get the whole family involved with this entertaining, outdoor activity.
Studies show repetitive licking increases endorphins, which in turn calms your pet. Smear some peanut butter or wet food across this mat and let your dog have at it! Great for use during bathing, grooming, crate time, etc.
